Our prediction for this Champions League match
Allianz Arena will be the centre of attention when Bayern Munich and PSG lock horns in the Champions League derby on Tuesday evening. Vincent Kompany’s men outplayed Augsburg 3-0 in the Bavarian derby at the weekend and they are seen as favourites to win the Champions League clash as well. A man to watch in the home team will be Harry Kane, who scored a hat-trick against Augsburg, while Joshua Kimmich will be assessed ahead of the kick-off. Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha remains in the recovery room.
Les Parisiens, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-game winless run in the Champions League. Bayern Munich, though, are a real force to be reckoned with at home, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Jamal Musiala and Co. The likes of Nuno Mendes, Goncalo Ramos, and Senny Mayulu miss out with injuries for the visiting side.
How the bookies view it: Bayern odds-on for the win
Bayern Munich are 4/7 odds-on favourites at the Win96 bookmakers to pick up the home win in this contest. Their domestic league form has been good, but Jilipark they haven’t been without their issues in the Champions League. Will that open a door for big 4/1 underdogs PSG though?
Players to watch: Olise the best Kane alternative
It can be tricky to find value in the goalscorer markets when a team relies as heavily on one striker like Bayern do with Harry Kane. The England captain has been in cracking form and rattled off a Bundesliga hattrick against Augsburg on Friday night.
Michael Olise has scored twice in four Champions League appearances this season, so could be a good alternative in the goalscorer market. He’s the only Bayern player besides Kane to have scored more than once in the competition.
PSG have been badly lacking an attacking threat and have only scored three times in four Champions League matches, and one of those was an own goal. That just adds weight to a potential clean sheet win for Bayern, even though Bradley Barcola has 10 goals in all competitions for them this season, it hasn’t happened for him nor Ousmane Dembélé in this competition.
Predicted Lineups
Joao Palhinha is still sidelined for Bayern along with Hiroki Ito and there will be a late test for Mathys Tel. Other than that, they are in strong shape. PSG have the likes of Lucas Hernandez and COncalo Ramos out, while Nuno Mendes could miss as well.
Bayern Munich: Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Musiala, Gnabry; Kane
